Personal Statement
I am a fully GDC registered Italian Dental Hygienist looking for employment in London.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet a dental practice owner and find out more about what I can do to help his/her practice. You find some of the responsibilities I've held over the past five years in the following lines.
I had 3 years of practical experience and 3 years of clinical experience within my university course (in Italy). I have team-orientated environment and consider myself to be a competent clinician. I pride myself on building an excellent rapport with patients, striving to establish dental visits as a positive experience for every individual. Strong ability to communicate clearly, persuasively and sincerely with patients. I particularly relish the challenge of treating paediatric patients, and patients with special needs: I am able to make small children feel comfortable when it is their first appointment, making them feel at ease, having fun, and learning about their teeth.
I am trained, licensed and experienced (in Italy) in the tasks involved in this profession: prophylaxis, radiographs, sealants, scaling and root planning, patient education.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene at University of Bologna in 2005. The program allowed me the opportunities to explore various aspects of dental hygiene such as Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, Special Care Dentistry, Dentistry for Disables, Preventive Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry, Periodontology.
Also, I participated in a university program where I went to public school to provide dental screening, fluoride treatment, explanation of tooth brushing and healthy diet's importance.
Periodontal disease is one of the most under diagnosed of diseases today. It has become a priority for me as a dental hygienist to educate myself regarding treatment of this disease and to practice using the best methods that are available.
In my career, I have improved the periodontal programs in offices that I have been employed. My hand skills and patient relationship skills have continued to grow and improve with each day on the job, as I enjoy working with each patient as they reach their goals.
